Frequently asked questions
Why does the message "Open a shift first: Cannot sell without an open shift" appear?
The system strictly enforces having an active shift open in the name of the cashier and their register before processing any sale, ensuring audit integrity and cash drawer balancing. Open a shift from the cashier screen and log your opening float to start selling.

Why does the system refuse to accept a card or CliQ payment amount greater than the invoice total?
For electronic tenders (bank card or CliQ), the system alerts: "Card or CliQ amount is greater than invoice total. Excess can only be tendered in cash". The system blocks excess electronic payments because the business does not provide cash-back withdrawal services via card terminals.

Why can't I void an old sales invoice?
If you attempt to void an invoice and receive the message "The shift for this invoice is closed", it is because the shift in which the invoice was generated has already been finalized and audited. In this scenario, voiding is prohibited; you must use the Refund button instead to return the item and amount within the currently open shift.

Why does the message "The register has an open shift. Close it first" appear?
Two cashiers cannot operate concurrently on the same register under two active shifts. If this message appears, it means the attendant on the previous shift did not close their shift on this register. Ask the supervisor or previous cashier to access Shifts and close the prior shift first.

Why don't items appear on the cashier screen?
The POS module relies entirely on the Suppliers and inventory system. If the cashier screen is empty, verify:
- "Suppliers and inventory" is enabled for the business.
- Items are entered with the Active flag enabled on their item card in inventory.
- The item is present in the warehouse linked to this cashier register.
