How does the system validate invoices before transmitting to the tax authority?

  1. Before transmitting any byte to tax servers, the internal validation engine checks the invoice automatically to ensure:
  • Invoice currency matches the country (JOD for Jordan, SAR for Saudi Arabia).
  • Tax identification numbers are formatted correctly without letters or symbols.
  • Tax rates (must be 16%, 0%, or statutory rates in Jordan; 15% or 0% in Saudi Arabia).
  • Completeness of national address details and building numbers.
  1. If any data is missing, the system halts transmission and displays a clear explanation in Arabic identifying the missing field and correction method.

  2. Do not create a new invoice for the buyer to avoid double taxation.
  3. Click the Resend button.

How does e-invoicing operate standalone without the full accounting module?

The e-invoicing module is engineered to run as an independent standalone system for businesses that do not require complex journal entries or comprehensive financial ledgers; only sales invoices, credit notes, customers, and integration settings screens are shown. Concurrently, the system builds underlying journal entries in the background so that if the company upgrades to full accounting, their general ledger and trial balance are ready without data loss.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the system block deleting an invoice after issuance and tax acceptance?

E-invoicing tax regulations strictly prohibit modifying or deleting any invoice once issued and transmitted to the tax authority. The system completely hides the delete button; the only legal procedure to cancel or adjust an invoice is clicking Return invoice (Credit Note) to generate an offsetting credit note in tax records.

Why does the message "Organization VAT number must be 15 digits starting and ending with 3" appear?

Why does JoFotara reject cash invoices exceeding 10,000 JOD without buyer ID?

Under JoFotara technical guidelines, credit sales invoices or cash invoices with an aggregate total exceeding 10,000 JOD mandatorily require the buyer's Tax Number or National ID; otherwise the tax portal rejects the invoice. Populate the customer's tax ID in their profile before transmitting.

Why does the message "Transmit original invoice to authority first" appear when issuing a credit note?

Tax regulations forbid submitting a credit note (return invoice) to tax servers unless the corresponding original invoice has already been submitted, cleared by the tax authority, and stamped with a QR code. Transmit the original invoice first until it becomes Accepted, then submit the return invoice.

Why does the message "This invoice is currently being sent. Please wait..." appear?

The message "This invoice is currently being sent. Please wait and try again" appears when a tax transmission request is actively processing with tax servers in the background. This concurrency lock prevents clicking the button repeatedly to avoid issuing two parallel requests for the same invoice.
